Ökonomie der Anpassung an den Klimawandel

Ökonomie der Anpassung an den Klimawandel

Work Package 6: Integration of Results

This project analysed the economics of adaptation from three - although economic - but still quite diverse perspectives: Firstly, some possible future changes in macroeconomic parameters caused by impacts from climate change and adaptation measures were modelled. Secondly, institutional conditions for successful implementation of climate adaptation strategies were analysed. Finally, a variety of valuation methods were derived from different normative theories.

This work package faced the challenge of highlighting the relationship between the different economic approaches used in the project and creating a constructive cooperation between the three participating institutions. The work package under the lead of the IÖW provided the coordination between the project partners with regard to their methodologies as well as contents and ensures the integration of the results.

Following questions were addressed in the course of this working package:

  • How can the results from the institutional analysis of the adaptation policy be implemented in the macroeconomic modelling?
  • How can the results of macroeconomic and regional modelling enrich the institutional analysis?
  • How do the results of the extended CBA and the institutional analysis influence each other? Can knowledge about institutional impacts of a political measure support the evaluation of the measure? Or do the results of the evaluations allow us to derive conclusions about the institutional conditions in a certain region?
  • How can the results of the institutional analysis and from the extended CBA support political decision processes?

Proceedings

In order to enable a constructive collaboration between the project members internal project meetings were arranged regularly. Moreover, workshops on comprehensive subjects were held during the project life time.
